We are inviting our Partner Artists to design a card for The Deck.

First, you'll need to go to our Shopify link below to "purchase" the card you'd like to design. This is free, and will allow you to reserve the card. Each artist can reserve one card. Please use your real mailing address when purchasing, so we can send you two copies of the finished deck (your privacy will be respected).

Please follow the guidelines below carefully.

Artistic Guidelines

Please create artwork specifically for this deck and incorporate it thoughtfully into the card you select. The inspiration behind this project is The Ultimate Deck: with that in mind, we encourage you to lean into the card you've chosen — that is part of why we let you pick your preferred card!

Timeline

Artwork must be submitted by June 16th EOD at the latest.

Template

Download this template in order to start creating your file with the correct size, bleed, and safe area.

Extend your background or design past the cut line (black) into the bleed (blue), to avoid any white lines on the edges of your card due to slight movement in the cutting process. Make sure all important visuals are within the safe area (dotted red line).

Technical Specifications

• Colour mode: CMYK. We highly recommend working in CMYK from the start to avoid any unfortunate colour conversions.

• Files must be minimum 300dpi. Make sure to include a bleed and safe area per the template.

• Accepted file types: JPG or TIFF. Other file types such as PNG or BMP do not support CMYK.

• Spades and Clubs must be this shade of black: C40, M40, Y40, K100

• Hearts and Diamonds must be this shade of red: C5, M100, Y95, K1

• Joker symbols must be Bitcoin Orange: C0, M50, Y99, K0. The symbol must be any variation of the Bitcoin ₿.

• Legibility: You can use any font as long as it is legible. Card symbols must be placed in the corners of the card and be large enough that you would be able to use the deck in a fast paced game.

• Background: If your artwork calls for a colored background, this is acceptable. Otherwise, we recommend a white or light colored background for maximum legibility.
